Class 3HB

Welcome to 3HB's Class Page!

3HB is shared by the teachers Mrs Bailey and

Mrs Hodson-Burr, and is supported by two amazing teaching assistants, Miss Dineen and Mrs Pasco.

We hope you enjoy exploring the page, which will highlight key areas of the terms learning and share photographs of what we have been doing!

Thank you for looking at our page, and we hope you visit it again soon.

Launch Day

Term 6

Fantasy Stories

We had a fantastic day, exploring three fantasy stories; The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

We made stick puppets, tasted and designed a new sweet for Willy Wonka and designed our very own wand. Look at our creations:

The History of Flight

As part of our topic work, we have explored 'The History of Flight'. We can now tell you some interesting facts. We hope you like the posters we created:

Lincoln Imp Summer Trail 2021

We have all taken part in the school competition to create a Lincoln Imp design. Winning designs will be chosen and created onto a huge Imp statue, that currently sits in Mr Kelwick's office.  (The  Imp is currently a boring white colour, all over!!)

Look at our fantastic class designs.

Check out the School Website pages for details on the winning designs.

Year 3 are exploring the epic expedition of Ernest Shackleton and his crew to the South Pole.

Today, we worked on updating the advert that Shackleton posted, to recruit brave crew for his voyage.  How do you think we did?

Picture This

We had a great start to Term 5 by having a 'creative day', to meet our 'Picture This' objective.

We explored an image from the book 'The Tower to the Sun', written and illustrated by Colin Thompson.  We listened to the story; asked questions about the story, author and the image; and then recreated the image using 3 different techniques :

sponge painting, collage and sketching.

We hope you like our work.  We loved creating the pictures!

New learning for Term 5

Here are the displays in the classroom so far...

What do you think we will be learning about this term?

Check back next week to see some of the learning that we have produced.

Easter fun!

On the last day of term we had fun creating Easter cards and Easter nests.

Tuesday 23rd March was The National Day of Reflection 2020/21. Class 3HB joined the other classes from Westgate Academy, in taking some time to reflect.  We joined a 'live' planting of spring bulbs in the school garden, via a TEAMS link.  This helped us to think about looking forwards to the future, whilst still reflecting on the year we have been through.

We all joined the nations 1 minute silence, and we were lucky enough to focus on the 1 minute of chimes ringing out from the cathedral.

Each class has then produced some art work, which is displayed on the hall windows, using the yellow colour and daffodil symbols, associated with the day.

3HB chose to make yellow coloured suncatchers.

We hope you like them.
