For Art this term we have been learning about Antoni Gaudi who famously used a technique called ‘trencadis’ (mosaic style) to create his sculptures. Using clay, we used lots of molding techniques to create our own animal sculptures and then painted them in the same style as Antoni Gaudi.
For our Topic lesson this week, we learnt about the different layers of the Rainforest and the animals that live in each layer. To show our understanding of this, we worked in teams to create a rainforest in a box using lots of different materials.
In Science, we are learning about Electricity. We have looked at the difference between battery and mains electricity and how they are both generated. We also explored how to make complete simple circuits using bulbs and a buzzer.
In our outdoor PE lessons so far this term, we have been enjoying playing a game called Scatterball (a game similar to rounders, but with a few differences). We have been practicing our fielding and batting/kicking skills and we are improving every week.
In our first Music lesson of Term 6, we enjoyed playing instruments in small groups and tried our best to keep in time with the song: 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight.' Each week we are working hard on our notation skills too!
